Hello everyone! The current state of my Capstone project is that it is currently at the 25% milestone. This entails a first prototype (executable is attached) and the beginning of the concept art for the levels, collectibles and hazards. This next week (March 1st) will consist of the following: 

- Adding a camera to the main character
- Creating a layout of collectibles and hazards for all 3 levels
- Figuring out the color scheme for the levels 

Level design and the following mechanics will be a central focus for this upcoming week. The mechanics for the levels will be as follows:
- Ferris wheel and rooftop platforming (CityScape, Level 1),
- Tree platforming and vine swinging (Jungle, Level 2)
- Quicksand and wind hazards (Desert, Level 3) 

I do intend to create a combat element to the game, I am currently torn between projectile shooting (which would include flying enemies and other elements related to it) or standard hack and slash with swords and smaller projectiles (such as throwing stars or knives).

I would like to try and tackle the animation for the next week, because I am still trying to figure out how to do it properly in GameMaker Studio 2 (the engine that I am using). 

As stated earlier, the concept art will be thought out in terms of style and color scheme, but it will be put on the backburner until the core level design and mechanics are properly working.

The coding element has been surprisingly simple so far for me, I have had no issues with the coding (yet), and I am extremely excited to learn how to code the level design elements.
